The *new* MCap® ZN line of capacitors is manufactured from ultrapure RoHS-compliant tin foil using the latest in winding technology. In the past, it was necessary to add lead to achieve the required foil softness for winding capacitors. However, this lead was making a negative tonal influence on the music signal. 
The *new* Lead-free tin foil provides advanced tonal neutrality and avoids the harmful environmental effects of manufacturing with lead. The ZN has enormous conductivity (loss factor is ten-times lower than standard MKP capacitors!) and the massive tin layer ensures lively music reproduction. Finally, the mass inertia of the tin foil prevents internal oscillations, providing improved transparency and spaciousness

Thanks to the latest winding technology Mundorf are able to manufacture the MCap® ZN from ultra-pure, RoHS-compliant tin foil. In the past, it was necessary to add lead in order to gain the required softness of the foil for winding the capacitors. But lead used to have a tonal influence on the music signal, too.

Lead-free tin foil means, aside from positive environmental aspects, an improved sound characteristic. The enormous conductivity insures a lively music reproduction.

And last but by no means least the mass inertia of the tin foil prevents oscillations this provides transparency and spatality.
